A free versatile debugging tool

Fiddler Everywhere is a free web debugging proxy server tool that allows you to easily inspect all HTTP and HTTPS traffic between your computer and the internet. Originally written by Eric Lawrence and now actively developed by Telerik, this development tool can monitor internet traffic, create mock requests, and diagnose network issues. Aside from this software, there are also other handy Fiddler products such as Fiddler Classic, FiddlerCore, and Fiddler Cap.

Is Fiddler Everywhere free?

Fiddler Everywhere is mainly used for capturing and logging HTTP and HTTPS traffic for you to review later. It’s great for testing connections as it inspects incoming and outgoing data to monitor and modify requests and responses before the PC’s browser receives them. It can also be used to edit network sessions. Compared to Fiddler Classic, it has new features you can use that are available on other operating systems other than Windows.

Its intuitive user interface is designed to be easy to navigate. Additionally, the revamped API Composer function enables you to quickly compose, test, group, and organize your API requests. One of the updated features—Auto Responder—can create mock requests and organize your auto-responding rules into groups. Lastly, collaborative projects are much easier now since you don’t have to manually export sessions or send captured traffic to your coworkers through emails. You’ll need an account to access it, however.

This tool has a free version you can download—simply give your email address, country, and agree to its terms and conditions to get it. The free version has all basic features but is limited in the number of Auto Responder rules, saved sessions, and other collaboration features you can use. Meanwhile, Fiddler Everywhere Pro is a monthly subscription that unlocks those for unlimited use. For the business licenses, you have to contact customer support.

All in all, the revamped features in Fiddler Everywhere make it an even more convenient debugging proxy tool for both beginners and advanced users. It also offers a premium version that gives you unlimited usage in requests, rules, and sessions. However, even with the free version, you still need to create an account and log in every time you have to use the program. Fortunately, you have the option to use your Google account.
